From May 3 to 31, at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Doai Phuong, Hanoi), a series of May activities will take place with the theme "Uncle Ho in the hearts of compatriots".
The event aims to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and also integrates the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. This is also an opportunity to promote culture, strengthen community exchanges and attract tourists to the "Common House" of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
The series of activities will have the participation of more than 100 people from 16 ethnic groups such as Nung, Tay, Dao, H'Mong, Muong, Thai, E De, Khmer..., from 11 localities across the country. In the two days of May 16 and 17, about 25 Tay and Nung people from Thai Nguyen will participate in highlight activities.
Prominent in the program is the event "Thuong Nho Ao Cham", which will recreate the ritual of praying for peace and dispelling bad luck of the Tay and Nung people. The ritual carries the meaning of thanking heaven and earth, praying for peace and prosperity. Activities rich in spiritual values, reflecting the depth of national culture.
In addition, the folk song and dance program "Viet Bac remembers Uncle Ho" is expected to bring an artistic space imbued with the highlands with Then, Sli, Luon melodies and the characteristic Tinh zither sound. The performances praising the homeland and country, along with expressing the deep feelings of the people towards Uncle Ho.
The photo exhibition space "Uncle Ho in the hearts of compatriots" introduces about 50 precious documents, combined with mobilizing individuals and organizations to supplement artifacts and images about his life and career, creating a highlight throughout the program.
Many other cultural activities will take place such as "May Gifts to Uncle Ho" or "Uncle Ho's Gratitude to the Central Highlands People" continuing to spread the feelings of ethnic groups for President Ho Chi Minh through songs, dances and true stories.
According to the plan, weekend and daily activities are organized diversely, from recreating daily life, handicraft performances to cultural exchange, folk games such as throwing con, bamboo dancing, stilt walking... Visitors also have the opportunity to experience traditional cuisine typical of many ethnic groups such as Muong, E De, Tay, Thai...
Experiential tourism programs such as "Footprints of Villages" or "Returning to the Great Highlands of the Central Highlands" will help tourists explore the unique cultural space of each region.
Through the series of activities, the image of Uncle Ho continues to be widely spread, contributing to promoting the study and following of his ideology, ethics, and style in community life.
At the same time, the event also contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and strengthening the connection between ethnic groups across the country.
