The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism honors and rewards village elders, village chiefs, and typical artisans who have made many contributions to preserving and promoting national cultural values.

Collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to preserving, conserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups have been honored within the framework of the National Conference on deploying ethnic cultural work and commending village elders, village chiefs, artisans, and prestigious people on the morning of April 17, at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Doai Phuong commune, Hanoi city).

Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism have been awarded to 4 collectives and 66 typical individuals from many localities across the country. The honored individuals are those who have persistently preserved customs and habits, taught cultural heritage, and made many positive contributions to spreading national cultural identity in the community.

4 collectives including: Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province; Lam Son Culture - Arts Center, Thanh Hoa province; Dak Nong Geopark Culture and Management Center, Lam Dong province for having achievements in participating in organizing the event "Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day" April 19, 2026 at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.

Next, 66 typical individuals from many localities across the country were honored and received Certificates of Merit recognizing their outstanding contributions and achievements in coordinating with ethnic minorities to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

The activity not only shows respect for those who keep the soul of culture, but also contributes to encouraging and motivating individuals and collectives to continue to join hands in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in modern life.

This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19) and the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities (April 19, 1946 - April 19, 2026).

Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19) 2026 takes place from April 17-19 at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups. More than 300 artisans, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people, and people of 54 ethnic groups from 34 provinces and cities will participate in the event.

Within the framework of the event, there will be a series of activities linking honoring, exchanging and experiencing culture. Delegates will participate in reporting achievements and visiting President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum. At the same time, Party and State leaders will meet and encourage village elders, village chiefs, artisans, and prestigious people who have made many achievements in preserving, maintaining, and promoting traditions.
