On July 13, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Dien Bien province organized a launching ceremony to implement the "Non-cash payment" movement in the province to promote digital transformation, develop the digital economy and improve the quality of service for people and businesses.
According to a report by the State Bank of Vietnam Branch Region 3, in recent years, non-cash payments have been identified as one of the important solutions to improve management efficiency and create favorable conditions for people and businesses.
To date, 100% of educational institutions and medical examination and treatment facilities in urban areas in the province have implemented cashless payments.
More than 60% of pensioners, social insurance benefits and unemployment benefits in urban areas are paid through accounts.
On average each year, credit institutions in the area handle more than 80 million non-cash payment transactions with a total value of over 200,000 billion VND.
The expansion of digital payment methods is contributing to promoting the building of digital government, digital economy and digital society in localities.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Mua A Vang - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - called on all levels, sectors, agencies, units, armed forces, the business community and people to actively respond. From there, promote the use of non-cash payment methods, especially in resolving administrative procedures and using essential services.
Leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also requested credit institutions to continue investing in and upgrading infrastructure, expanding the digital payment network to rural areas, remote and isolated areas.
Strengthen propaganda, ensure safety and security in electronic transactions, contributing to promoting digital transformation, towards building Dien Bien into a green, smart and sustainable development.
