400 gifts to poor and disadvantaged households on the occasion of Vu Lan Anxiety Festival

Vinh Long - On the occasion of Vu Lan's Golden Lotus Ceremony, 400 gifts were presented to poor and disadvantaged households, including many Khmer ethnic people.

On September 3, UB. The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tra On commune, in coordination with Nhi My Pagoda, and benefactors organized the presentation of 400 gifts to poor households and households in difficult circumstances, including many Khmer people inside and outside the commune.

Each gift includes 5 kg of rice and 300,000 VND in cash, worth more than 140 million VND, donated by Buddhists at home and abroad, with the desire to share difficulties and bring joy to the people during the Vu Lan season.

This is an activity that Nhi My Pagoda has maintained for many years, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and sharing with the community, while spreading the beauty of the nation's piety and tradition of kindness.

Venerable Thich Tam Dao - abbot of Nhi My Pagoda said that today's gift-giving activity is not only about sharing material things, but also sending affection and compassion to the poor, including the Khmer people, contributing to building a humane and humane society.

"This meaningful activity demonstrates the spirit of "remembering the source when drinking water", contributing to connecting the community, together towards a peaceful and happy life", the Venerable added.
