Implementing the Program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" phase 1 in Bac Lieu city, through screening, Bac Lieu city has 27 houses belonging to poor households, near-poor households with housing difficulties (including 1 house of a poor household and 26 near-poor apartments). Right from the policy of implementing the Program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", the city has directed the People's Committees of communes and wards to carefully review the subjects to avoid overlap between support programs. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city is implementing the construction of 21 houses for households with housing difficulties.
Regarding Vinh Loi district, after checking, the whole district has 68 poor households facing housing difficulties. After surveying, 38 households are eligible for support to build houses, the remaining 30 households are not eligible to build houses. The reasons are: no land to live on; have mobilized support for construction but no land to build; cannot afford to add more money to build; absent from the locality to work far away.
For households that do not have the conditions to build houses, Vinh Loi district has proposed to convert them to support the construction of houses for 30 near-poor households.
After the first review, Bac Lieu province has 779 temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be repaired or rebuilt. The province strives to complete the first phase of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by the end of December 2024.
Surveying the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, on November 26, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang requested the Party Committee and authorities to continue to promote propaganda work in various forms, raise awareness and mobilize the entire political system to participate in the work of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. Localities proactively advance funds and mobilize and mobilize social resources to have more funding sources to support the implementation progress, ensuring completion in 2024.
According to Mr. Thang, building new houses or repairing houses must ensure the "3 hard" requirements (hard foundation, hard frame, hard roof). Mobilizing cadres, members, soldiers of the armed forces, and people to join hands to support materials and working days to save time and costs for building houses for poor and near-poor households; Establishing inspection and supervision teams for mobilization, support and implementation, ensuring policies reach each poor and near-poor household with housing difficulties who are eligible for support...
