On the afternoon of March 2nd, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung came to present flowers to congratulate and visit and encourage the spirit of officers and soldiers of An Giang Provincial Border Guard on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Border Guard Tradition Day and the 36th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day.
On behalf of the unit, Colonel Pham Van Thang, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Commander of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, reported to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the results the unit achieved in performing Border Guard work tasks in 2025.
Especially, the unit has well performed its role and tasks in participating in protecting political events and key national projects in the province. Doing a good job of preventing and combating IUU fishing, preventing crime and border guard foreign affairs. Successfully and effectively organized the activities "Border Spring warms people's hearts", "National Border Guard Day".
In 2026, the Party Committee of the Border Guard Command will continue to lead and direct the entire unit, closely coordinate with forces, departments, branches, and mass organizations to promote the task of protecting border sovereignty and preventing all kinds of crimes. Deploy many programs and models towards poor people in border and island areas of the province.
Recognizing and praising the results achieved in the past time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The Border Guard force plays a core and specialized role in managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty and border security on both the mainland and island routes. Under all conditions, officers and soldiers always promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, overcome difficulties, stick to units, stick to localities, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
Regarding tasks in the coming time, it is proposed that the Provincial Border Guard Command continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Directives and Resolutions of the Central Government and the province on national defense and security tasks. Effectively implement all aspects of work, proactively grasp the situation, and promptly advise Party committees and authorities to handle arising issues, not to be passive or surprised.
