Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen - Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security; representatives of units under the Office of the Ministry of Public Security. On the side of Nghe An province, there were Colonel Tran Hong Quang - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police and representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors, local Party committees, authorities and construction units.
The Nghe An Provincial Social Work Center (now in Do Luong Commune) was established in 1997, with the task of receiving, caring for, and raising abandoned children, orphans, people with disabilities, and policy beneficiaries in difficult circumstances. For nearly 30 years, the Center has supported thousands of disadvantaged people to stabilize their lives and integrate into the community.
Faced with the state of degraded facilities and not meeting the requirements of care and nurturing, the Ministry of Public Security has mobilized resources to support the construction of a 2-storey building with 16 rooms for children and policy beneficiaries; at the same time, a 1-storey canteen was built to serve about 200 people at the same time.
According to the report of the construction unit, the 2-storey house with a construction area of about 1,200 m2 has completed 50% of the foundation; the 1-storey dining house with an area of 450 m2 is preparing to construct the pile foundation. The project strives to complete the rough construction before the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 and put into use before April 30, 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen emphasized that this is a project of practical significance, demonstrating the Ministry of Public Security's concern for social security work, contributing to improving the conditions for caring for and raising orphans, children with disabilities, and victims of Agent Orange that are being received by the Center. At the same time, he requested relevant units to closely coordinate, speed up progress, and ensure the quality of the project.
On this occasion, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen presented gifts from the Minister and Deputy Ministers of Public Security to the Nghe An Provincial Social Work Center; visited and encouraged children and forces participating in the construction.
