On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27,477 - July 27, 2025), the Naval Region 5 Command organized working groups to visit and present gifts to 71 policy families in An Giang province, Ca Mau and Can Tho city.
This is an activity of political and social significance, expressing affection and deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, it demonstrates the responsibility and affection of today's soldiers in preserving and promoting the good historical values and traditions of the nation.
At the places visited, the heads of the Naval Region 5 Command kindly visited and presented 71 gifts to express their deep gratitude to the families of war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bang, a relative of a martyr, living in Suoi May quarter, Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang province) emotionally expressed: "Every July 27 every year, the Navy comes to ask questions, encourage and give gifts. Our family appreciate the heart and sincere care of the officers and soldiers of the unit.

Along with the gratitude activities for policy families in the area stationed, the Naval Region 5 Command also organized visits to soldiers who are children of war invalids and martyrs working at the unit, and visited officers, soldiers and people being treated at Treatment Team 78, Logistics - Technical Department of the Region. The kind words of encouragement and gifts imbued with love have added determination for the soldiers and people to overcome difficulties, recover their health and stabilize their lives soon.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sau, Quarter 8, Phu Quoc Special Zone, who is being treated at the 78 Treatment Team, expressed: "When I was sick and was wholeheartedly cared for by military doctors, now that the leaders of the Naval Region 5 Command have visited, we felt very warm".
Colonel Ngo Van Thanh, Political Commissar of Naval Region 5, emphasized: Visiting and giving gifts to policy families and people with revolutionary contributions and taking care of the lives of officers and soldiers is an activity that clearly demonstrates the responsibility, affection and core role of the Army in implementing policy work and caring for the military rear. At the same time, it contributes to educating revolutionary traditions and strengthening the relationship of solidarity between the army and people in the area where the army is stationed. This is also one of the practical contents towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and to celebrate the 14th Congress of the Navy Party Committee.
