The Internal Security Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police has just coordinated with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to organize propaganda on preventing and combating property fraud for reputable people in ethnic minority areas, according to the E-Portal of Lam Dong Provincial Police.
The activity took place at the Center for Nursing People with Meritorious Services of Lam Dong province, within the framework of the 5th training and knowledge fostering conference in 2026. The conference was attended by 78 delegates who are prestigious people in ethnic minority areas in a commune bordering Da Lat City (old).
At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Chau, Deputy Head of the Internal Security Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, informed about the situation of property fraud, especially acts of taking advantage of cyberspace with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks.
The reporter analyzed many common fraud tricks such as impersonating state agencies, police, and banks; impersonating relatives to borrow money; recruiting online collaborators; calling for financial and virtual currency investment; sending fake links to steal personal information and bank accounts to appropriate assets.
Participants are advised not to provide passwords, OTP codes or account information to others; not to transfer money without checking or verifying; not to access links or install applications of unknown origin. When suspicious signs are detected, it is necessary to stop the transaction and promptly notify the nearest police agency.
Through the conference, delegates were supplemented with knowledge and skills to identify and prevent fraudulent tricks, thereby promoting the role of propaganda and mobilization of ethnic minorities to raise vigilance, comply with the law and actively participate in maintaining security and order in the locality.
