On September 4, Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda ( Luc Si Thanh Commune) organized a ceremony to present 300 gifts to poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households inside and outside the commune on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival of the Golden Star of the 2569th lunar calendar 2025.
Each gift includes 10kg of rice, 1 box of noodles, 1 bag of necessities and 150 thousand VND in cash, supported by Buddhists, donors and benefactors.
This is an annual activity of Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda, demonstrating the spirit of "saring" of Buddhism, contributing to sharing difficulties and bringing joy to the people during the Vu Lan season of giving gifts.
Venerable Thich Mat Tinh - abbot of Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda said that Vu Lan is the season of gratitude, an occasion for everyone to remember gratitude for being born, and at the same time an opportunity to spread love to the community.
"Hopefully, these gifts will contribute to encouraging the spirit, helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives," the Venerable added.
This activity also contributes to the government of Luc Si Thanh commune in implementing social security work well, spreading the tradition of humanity and goodwill of the Vietnamese people.
