On June 24, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Trinh Tuong Commune Police are strengthening measures to manage addicts and illegal drug users in the area, drastically implementing compulsory detoxification according to regulations.
Responding to the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control and the National Day for Drug Prevention and Control on June 26, Trinh Tuong Commune Police coordinated with Task Force 373 of the Provincial Police to promote review, grasp the situation, and manage subjects with signs related to drugs.
On June 23, functional forces conducted inspections and rapid tests for 3 cases including V.A. H (born 1983, residing in Ban Lau village), S.X. M (born 1970) and C.C. S (born 1965), all residing in Lao Chai village, Trinh Tuong commune.
The test results showed that all 3 cases were positive for heroin. At the police station, the subjects confessed to using drugs for a long time.


Immediately after that, Trinh Tuong Commune Police urgently completed the dossier and procedures according to regulations to send the subjects to compulsory detoxification.
According to Lao Cai Provincial Police, promptly detecting, managing and sending addicts to compulsory detoxification is an important solution to improve the effectiveness of drug prevention and control at the grassroots level, contributing to preventing crime and social evils from arising.
Through the compulsory detoxification process, addicts are managed, treated and supported to quit drugs, gradually stabilize their lives, and reintegrate into the community.
In the coming time, Trinh Tuong Commune Police will continue to strengthen the review and management of addicts and illegal drug users; promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in fighting and denouncing drug crimes, contributing to building safe and drug-free areas.
