According to VNA, speaking to direct at the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trieu Tai Vinh emphasized: Ethnic affairs and religious affairs are strategic and long-term issues, of particular importance in consolidating the great national unity bloc, maintaining political and social stability and sustainable development of the country.
The Secretariat has issued directives, conclusions, and notices on a number of guidelines and tasks to continue to consistently and consistently implement the Party's viewpoint on ethnic minority and religious affairs in the new situation; affirming that ethnic minority and religious affairs are tasks of the entire political system, must be placed in the overall strategy of national development, associated with socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and consolidating the great national unity bloc.
In the context of implementing the two-level local government model, ethnic minority and religious affairs work sets higher requirements for proactiveness, directness and efficiency in leadership, direction, and organization of implementation right from the grassroots level; requiring Party committees and authorities to strengthen grasping the situation, promptly solve arising problems, not to let "hot spots" form, and ensure maintaining political and social stability early and remotely.
Over the past time, ethnic minority and religious affairs have achieved many important results; the awareness of responsibility of levels and sectors has been raised; leadership and organizational methods have many innovations, contributing to consolidating people's trust, preserving cultural identity and ensuring national defense and security.
Mr. Trieu Tai Vinh noted that, regarding tasks in the coming time, Party committees and Party organizations at all levels need to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the documents of the Secretariat attached to the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; ensure unified awareness and action with the motto "go ahead to open the way, go together to implement, go behind to summarize"; strongly shift from "administrative management" to "accompanying, supporting and developing". Party committees and Party organizations at all levels continue to innovate working methods in the direction of sticking closely to grassroots levels, promoting the role of Party committees and grassroots cadres in organizing implementation, putting people at the center; linking ethnic and religious work with socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security and maintaining political stability.
At the conference, the organizing committee screened documentary films on ensuring security and order in religious areas and ethnic minority areas; deploying central documents on ethnic and religious affairs.
