On July 3, in Quang Truc border commune (Lam Dong), Economic - National Defense Team 726 ( Branch 726), Corps 16 organized the military-political conference for the first 6 months of 2026 to assess the results of task implementation and deploy directions and tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hue, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Delegation, chaired the conference.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2026, the Party Committee and Command of Economic - National Defense Team 726 have led and directed the successful completion of military and national defense tasks associated with socio-economic development in the area.
The unit strictly maintains combat readiness, builds regularity, and manages discipline. The unit also closely coordinates with local Party committees, authorities and forces to maintain political security and social order and safety in the border area.
In production and business activities, the unit planted 9.6ha of new coffee; supplied 598 tons of materials, fertilizers, 25,666 seedlings and 8,715 liters of irrigation oil.
The delegation also invested 543 million VND to repair and dredge 11 ponds and lakes, ensuring irrigation water for 106ha of coffee. The average income of workers reached more than 16 million VND/person/month.
The unit organized many activities to care for policy families and poor households with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND; medical examinations, medicine distribution, and gifts for 300 policy families and people in difficult circumstances; supporting the construction of 1 Team House and 3 Trade Union Warm Houses, contributing to consolidating the people's hearts and strengthening military-civilian solidarity in the area.
In particular, the unit achieved many achievements at contests and competitions organized by the 16th Corps and the entire army, typically such as the Excellent Reporter Contest, the Political Essay Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation for the sixth time in 2026 and the Writing Contest "Warm and loving family meal", thereby affirming the quality of Party work, political work and the Determined to Win emulation movement.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hue requested Party committees and commanders of agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement resolutions and directives of superiors; closely combine economic development tasks with consolidating national defense and security; proactively grasp the local situation, not to be passive or surprised in any situation.
At the same time, focus on comprehensively completing the targets and tasks for 2026; improving production and business efficiency; strictly managing land, forests, assets, and finances; taking care of the lives of cadres, soldiers, workers and people in the project area; building a clean and strong Party organization, and comprehensively strong units.
On this occasion, the Party Committee and Command of Economic - National Defense Team 726 awarded decisions to raise salaries, promote military ranks beyond the framework, and transfer salary groups for professional soldiers, national defense workers and contract workers; and at the same time rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in peak emulation periods and competitions in the past time.
