On June 23, at the Conference of the Party Committee of Economic - National Defense Team 737 (Military Region 5) issued a resolution leading the implementation of tasks for the last 6 months of 2026, in the first 6 months of the year, despite facing many difficulties, the unit still successfully completed military and national defense tasks associated with socio-economic development.
Thereby, contributing to maintaining stability in the Ea Rve and Ea Lop border areas (Dak Lak province).
That result continues to affirm the role of the unit in building economic - defense zones (KT - QP), consolidating national defense and security and strengthening the people's hearts in the strategic area.
Over the past time, the Party Committee and command of Economic-National Defense Team 737 have thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the resolutions, conclusions, and strategies of the Central Government, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5 on military and national defense tasks.
Unit leaders continue to promote the core role in building defense areas and socio-economic development in the area. The unit maintains effective coordination regulations with Party committees and local authorities of Ia Lop and Ia Rve communes and forces stationed in the area. In addition, regularly exchange and grasp the political security and social order and safety situation.
One of the outstanding highlights of Economic-Defense Team 737 is the coordination of economic development, creating jobs and livelihoods for people in the project area. Currently, the unit is coordinating with businesses to deploy production models on the project land of Ea Sup Economic-Defense Zone.
Creating about 20,000 working days for local people, total labor costs of over 6 billion VND, contributing to increasing income and improving the lives of people in border areas.
Economic-Defense Team 737 is also implementing investment steps to build the Ea Sup Economic-Defense Zone phase II (2026-2030), including many items such as inter-commune traffic roads, new construction of barracks, hospitals, production teams; dams in hamlet 4, Ia Rve commune; internal field canals and livestock areas for increased production.
When completed, the projects will create motivation to promote socio-economic development, improve people's lives and improve the operational efficiency of the economic - defense zone.
Mass mobilization and social security work continues to be effectively implemented by the unit. The delegation assigned 41 turns of officials and employees to coordinate with local authorities to support house repairs for 15 households damaged by storms, participate in firefighting, and rebuild houses for one household affected by a fire.
In particular, during the recent prolonged drought, the unit mobilized forces and vehicles to supply nearly 780m3 of domestic water to 28 households and agencies of Ia Rve commune. These practical actions have contributed to helping people overcome difficulties and consolidate the people's trust in the armed forces.
In the field of Party building, the Party Committee of Economic-Defense Team 737 focused on synchronously deploying solutions to improve the leadership capacity and combat strength of the Party organization. Party member development work achieved outstanding results. Cadres, staff, and soldiers always maintain political bravery, absolutely believe in the Party's leadership, and are ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks well.
Speaking to direct at the Conference, Major General Nguyen Quoc Huong requested the Party Committee and Command of Economic-Defense Team 737 to continue to firmly grasp the strategic position of the area, population characteristics, and people's lives to correctly identify goals and tasks; taking political efficiency as the focus in all activities.
The comrade emphasized that the selection of production linkage partners must be carefully surveyed and fully assessed capacity to create stable jobs for the people and effectively exploit the project land fund.
At the same time, the unit needs to focus on performing well the tasks of combat readiness, training, disaster prevention and control, rescue and relief; promote digital transformation, build databases; effectively implement population stabilization projects, and develop livelihoods for people.
In particular, it is necessary to always "rely on the people to grasp the situation", maintain a close solidarity relationship with Party committees, authorities and people in the area, contributing to building an increasingly solid people's hearts posture in the Central Highlands border region.
