On May 9, Major General Phan Dai Nghia - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 led a working delegation to inspect combat readiness and task performance in Tan Hiep island commune (Da Nang City). The working delegation conducted a comprehensive inspection of the organization of forces, training and combat readiness (SSCĐ) of Battalion HH70 (Da Nang City Military Command) and units under Military Region 5 on duty in the area. The delegation also surveyed the field in some key areas on Tan Hiep island commune.
Major General Phan Dai Nghia highly appreciated the proactiveness of the Military Command (CHQS) of Da Nang City and units in seriously implementing assigned tasks. In particular, the leaders of the Military Region praised the units for focusing on building a green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape, promoting increased production, making important contributions to improving the quality of life for soldiers at the forefront of the storm.
Major General Phan Dai Nghia requested the Da Nang City Military Command to proactively prioritize troops to perform tasks on the island in accordance with regulations. In which, the unit needs to actively advise and effectively use local budget resources combined with national defense budget. The goal is to focus on investing in basic construction, repairing and upgrading items of works not only serving national defense purposes but also ensuring "duality", contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.


For the contingent of officers and soldiers, the Deputy Commander of Military Region 5 emphasized the spirit: "Every day on the island is a day of effort and striving". Direct officers must be close to the grassroots level, firmly grasp soldier ideology, train firm political bravery and absolutely not let violations of discipline and law occur. Major General Phan Dai Nghia requested forces to strengthen close coordination, maintain political security and social order and safety.
In particular, in disaster prevention and control, rescue and relief work, Major General directed units to be completely proactive, absolutely not passive or waiting for local requests to launch operations.
All activities of the unit are not simply military activities but must be closely associated with the people. The armed forces must truly be a reliable and solid support for the Party committees, authorities and local people," Major General Phan Dai Nghia affirmed.

On this occasion, the Command of Military Region 5 presented many meaningful gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of units performing tasks in Tan Hiep island commune to continue to overcome difficulties and excellently complete the task of protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.
