On the morning of September 4, in Tan Hong commune, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Dong Thap province held a send-off ceremony, assigning tasks to Team K91 to search for and repatriate the remains of volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed during the wars in Cambodia, in the dry season of 2026 - 2027.

Attending the ceremony were Major General Huynh Van Ngon - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9, Head of Steering Committee 515 Military Region 9; Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Dong Thap province; representatives of departments, agencies, branches, localities and officers and soldiers of Team K91.
Speaking to assign tasks, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan emphasized that searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains is a particularly important political task, reflecting the morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Gratitude" of the nation. Having spent many years performing tasks in Prey Veng and Pursat provinces (Cambodia), generations of officers and soldiers of Team K91 have persistently searched and repatriated more than 2,100 martyrs' remains to bring them back to their motherland.
In the 2025 - 2026 dry season, Team K91 searched and repatriated 68 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 47 sets of remains were found in Cambodia. The unit also promoted the collection of biological samples to serve DNA testing and identify martyrs' identities. Entering a new phase, provincial leaders requested Team K91 to continue to improve its determination, proactively create information sources, strengthen coordination with the government, functional forces and people of Cambodia; effectively implement military and civilian diplomacy, contributing to consolidating solidarity and friendship between the two nations.

On behalf of the unit, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Thanh Dan - Team Leader of Team K91 affirmed that officers and soldiers will uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, overcome difficulties, strictly comply with discipline, maintain the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and be determined to complete the assigned tasks well. On this occasion, the units presented gifts and encouraged officers and soldiers of Team K91 before departing to perform their duties.

Before the send-off ceremony, delegates offered flowers, incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers at Tan Hong Martyrs' Temple, which commemorates 730 heroic martyrs who sacrificed in the two resistance wars against French colonialism, American imperialism and the Southwest border war, along with 83 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
