Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan said that on June 27, 2025, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to include the death anniversary of Thien Ho Vo Duy Duong and Doc Binh Nguyen Tan Kieu and the Via Ba Chua Xu Go Thap Festival in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. "This is a special event, demonstrating the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source", deep gratitude to predecessors, and at the same time affirming the historical depth, cultural identity and sustainable vitality of the people of Dong Thap in the process of national development" - Mr. Tuan emphasized.

On this occasion, Mr. Tuan also expressed the province's determination to promote the historical - cultural - educational values of heritage, when committing to continue to manage, preserve and promote the effectiveness of Go Thap cultural heritage; linking tradition preservation with historical education, developing sustainable tourism and building compassionate, dynamic, and creative Dong Thap people. In that spirit, Mr. Tuan proposed that local authorities continue to strictly implement the responsibility of state management of heritage, creating conditions for people to participate deeply in the process of preserving and promoting heritage values; the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector proactively builds long-term programs and solutions, improves the quality of festival organization, and links heritage preservation with sustainable tourism development.

It is known that Thien Ho Duong's name was Vo Duy Duong (1827 - 1866) and Doc Binh Kieu ( ?-1866) - also known as Le Cong Kieu, Tran Phu Kieu or Nguyen Tan Kieu, people often call him "Grandtain Thuong - the leader of the anti-French uprising in Dong Thap Muoi region, making many glorious feats of arms. The two men and many anti-French leaders of the time such as: Valedictorian Nguyen Huu Huan, Do Thuc Tinh, Truong Quyen... recruited farmers to form a righteous army to attack many fortresses, causing heavy losses to the French army... In November 1866, Thien Ho Duong crossed the sea to return to Kinh, unfortunately in an accident, losing him in Can Gio sea area. To commemorate the hero with meritorious services, the people built a memorial temple in Go Thap, taking the 14th, 15th, and 16th of November every year to organize a memorial ceremony for his death.

Also in this year, Doc Binh Kieu also sacrificed himself after many days of fierce fighting with the French army commanded by Tran Ba Loc to attack Thap Muoi. To commemorate his merits in fighting the enemy, the people buried and built a memorial temple to commemorate him at Go Thap garrison and many other places in the Dong Thap Muoi region. The death anniversary of the 2 heroes was held according to traditional, solemn, and respectful rituals...
