On June 17, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra signed Decision No. 1093/QD-TTg on transferring the Village of Culture and Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Hanoi People's Committee for management.
According to the decision, the management authority and the entire current status of the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups are transferred from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Hanoi People's Committee according to Resolution No. 126/NQ-CP dated May 11, 2026 of the Government and related legal regulations.
The handover and receipt must be completed before July 1, 2026. From this time, the Hanoi People's Committee will directly manage the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant ministries and sectors to organize the handover of the unit in its original state in accordance with regulations. During the transfer period, the Village of Culture and Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups continues to use funds and implement tasks according to the approved state budget plan.
The Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups is located in Doai Phuong commune, Hanoi, about 40km from the capital center. This is a national-scale cultural, sports and tourism center, built to recreate, preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
The project has a scale of about 1,544ha, including both land and water surface of Dong Mo Lake. In which, the ethnic village area is a key item, recreating the living space, architecture and unique cultural life of ethnic groups across the country.
In recent years, the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups has regularly organized large-scale cultural events, attracting a large number of people and tourists. This is considered the "common home" of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups, and also a unique cultural, educational and tourism destination of Hanoi Capital.
