Action Month for Children 2026 in Lao Cai with the theme "Happy, Safe, Steady Children in the Digital Age" is being implemented synchronously, attracting a large number of children to participate, mobilizing many resources to care for children in difficult circumstances, and at the same time raising the awareness of the whole society about protecting, caring for and educating children, according to the Lao Cai Provincial e-Portal.
Closely following the direction of the Ministry of Health and the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and localities have organized many communication activities, life skills education, accident prevention and control, injuries, drowning and child protection in the online environment. 100% of communes and wards responded to the Action Month and the opening of summer 2026; cultural, artistic, sports, and entertainment activities attracted 241,690 children to participate.
The launching ceremony took place on May 29, 2026 in Mau A commune (Lao Cai) with nearly 300 delegates, children and people attending. On this occasion, agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists registered to support the Provincial Children's Fund with more than 1 billion VND to support children in particularly difficult circumstances.
During the month, the education sector organized more than 4,500 propaganda and extracurricular sessions with over 280,000 student participants. Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union implemented many life skills education programs, "Military semesters", dialogues with children and safe summer activities.
The Provincial Women's Union continues to implement the "Parental Mother" Program; trade union levels care for more than 9,000 children of union members and workers with a budget of about 5 billion VND.
Localities also promoted propaganda on drowning prevention and control, building playgrounds, awarding scholarships, giving gifts, and commending exemplary students; many disabled, orphaned and children in special circumstances were supported promptly.
The Vietnam Children's Fund coordinated to organize the "0-dong Fair" program to support 600 children in border areas; awarded scholarships, bicycles, invested in playgrounds, libraries and clean water projects with a total value of nearly 2.4 billion VND.
The Provincial Children's Fund supported 401 children with a budget of 438 million VND. Child health care continues to be maintained effectively with the rate of children under 2 years old being monitored for growth reaching 97.75%; children under 1 year old fully vaccinated reaching 93.1%; children from 6 to 36 months old receiving vitamin A reaching over 99.8%.
Action Month for Children 2026 has effectively promoted the participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society, contributing to building a safe environment, creating conditions for children to develop comprehensively.
