According to information from the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Quang Tri province, from 2022 to February 2025, the central budget and the Provincial People's Council allocated to implement the 3 main contents of Project 7 under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas (DTTS) and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030 is 9,635 million VND.
From this funding source, Quang Tri province has organized activities to build and develop grassroots health care, improve the quality of the population in ethnic minority and mountainous areas and health care, mother and child nutrition to reduce maternal and child death, improve the stature and physical strength of ethnic minorities, to date, the disbursement result has reached 87%.
According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, through the implementation of project 7, in general, the planning targets of the phase are almost achieved. The percentage of pregnant women is regularly examined (at least 4 times in pregnancy) increased. The percentage of women giving birth at a medical facility or the support of medical staff increases. The percentage of children under 5 years of age malnutrition is mild weight loss.
In particular, communication, consultation and mobilization activities for people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas have strongly impacted reproductive health care and nutritional care through direct intervention since mothers were pregnant and raising children in the first 1,000 days of life.
Similarly, in Nghe An province, the unit is synchronously implementing people's health care activities. Recently, Nghe An province has recruited 15 doctors to work in remote communes.
In particular, with funding from the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030, period I: From 2021 - 2025 (MTQG Program 1719), the province has organized 15 training sessions for science and technology transfer;
Support 1,442 out-of-station vaccination points; organize 1,285 consultations on health check-ups and prenatal screening, 10 activities contributing to improving the health of the elderly, 480 communication activities on population stability and development, 10 training sessions to improve population management capacity attracting 1,211 participants;
Districtulated 794 documents and organized 1 Thalassemia disease prevention campaign; 19 reproductive health care training courses, with 1,834 participants; supported the development of 23 nutritional care models for beginners, 9 service packages and 7 models of maternal and child health care...
According to the leader of the Department of Population - Family Planning of Nghe An province, through the years of implementing Project 7, the unit has implemented many activities, focusing on specific subjects; prioritizing remote areas; diversifying activities such as health care programs for the elderly, reproductive health of adolescents and young people;
Program on prenatal screening, newborn screening, prevention of consanguineous marriage, child marriage, prevention of congenital hemorrhage. Thereby, contributing to helping ethnic minorities raise awareness and change their attitudes towards implementing services to improve population quality.
To continue improving the quality of the population in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the health sector - population of localities is stepping up propaganda on the purpose and significance of Project 7, National Target Program 1719.
In which, the focus is on promoting the role of prestigious people, village elders, village chiefs. Organize activities to popularize consultation services, health check-ups before marriage; screening, diagnosis, and treatment of some diseases before birth and newborns.
