On May 20, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Van Chan Commune Police had just coordinated with the Nghia Lo Regional Forest Protection Department to receive a wild monkey individual voluntarily handed over by people.
Previously, in the afternoon of May 18, Mr. Ha Van Thuy (born 1989, residing in Ha Thinh village, Van Chan commune) discovered a male monkey appearing on the inter-village road, regularly climbing around residential areas, taking chicken eggs, picking fruit in people's gardens.

After receiving the report, Van Chan Commune Police coordinated with the forest ranger force to quickly receive the monkey in a stable health condition.
After that, functional forces complete the procedures to hand over to the Hoang Lien Tourism and Biodiversity Conservation Center for care, rescue and release back to the natural environment.
According to Van Chan Commune Police, in the past time, the unit has strengthened propaganda and mobilized people to raise awareness of wildlife protection, protect aquatic resources, contributing to biodiversity conservation and protecting wild birds and migratory birds.
Functional forces also advise people not to hunt, raise, or illegally trade wild animals; promptly notify functional agencies when detecting wild animals appearing in residential areas.
