Tay Ninh Buddhism expresses gratitude to martyrs, spends more than 44 billion VND on social security

Tay Ninh Buddhism has implemented more than 44 billion VND in social security activities in the first 6 months of 2026.

Towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) of Tay Ninh province organized a memorial service for heroic martyrs at Tra Vo Martyrs' Cemetery (Thanh Duc commune), and at the same time informed about many outstanding results in social security work.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province, monks, nuns, Buddhists and representatives of the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, departments, branches and local authorities.

At the ceremony, delegates and venerable dignitaries performed a requiem ritual, dedicating a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Speaking at the memorial ceremony, Venerable Thich Quang Tam - Head of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province said that gratitude and repayment are one of the core moral values of Buddhism. In recent years, the Sangha has always accompanied activities to care for people with meritorious services, policy families and social security work.

According to Venerable Thich Quang Tam, in the first 6 months of 2026, the total budget for social charity activities of Tay Ninh Buddhism reached more than 44 billion VND. This resource is used to care for policy families, support Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, build traffic bridges, gratitude houses, great solidarity houses and many community support activities.

Representing the local government, Mr. Nguyen Van Mung - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Tay Ninh province highly appreciated the fact that the Executive Board of GHPGVN province organized a memorial ceremony on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

Mr. Nguyen Van Mung said that the activity contributes to educating patriotism, gratitude to previous generations, and at the same time recognizes the contributions of monks, nuns, and Buddhists in social security work, caring for people with meritorious services, and gratitude activities in the province.
