On the morning of July 9, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) of Tay Ninh province organized the opening ceremony of the 2026 Sangha Administrative Training Course at the Hall of the Provincial GHPGVN Headquarters (Phap Minh Pagoda, My Hanh commune).
Attending the opening ceremony were elder Venerable Thich Thien Phap - Standing Member of the Patronage Council, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; elder Venerable Thich Thien Hue - Member of the Patronage Council, Patronage of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province; Venerable Thich Minh Thien - Member of the Executive Council, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Patronage Committee, Patronage, Advisor to the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province; Venerable Thich Nhat Tu - Standing Member of the Executive Council, Deputy Chief of Office 2 of the Central GHPGVN; Venerable Thich Dao Phuoc - Member of the Executive Council, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Information and Communications Committee of GHPGVN; along with venerable monks of the Patronage Board, Standing Board, Executive Board of GHPGVN province, representatives of Buddhist religions of communes and wards and a large number of monks and nuns in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Thien Thuc - Standing Deputy Head of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province said that in the first 6 months of 2026, the Executive Board of GHPGVN province organized the 1st Tay Ninh Provincial Buddhist Congress after the merger and celebrated the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. Social security activities of Buddhism in the province reached a total value of more than 44 billion VND.
According to the Executive Board, after merging the administrative unit, GHPGVN Tay Ninh province promotes the application of digital technology in the management and administration of Buddhist affairs and the management of monks and nuns.
This year's training course is organized in the form of a non-paper conference, focusing on topics on the application of artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation in Buddhist activities, updating policies and laws on beliefs and religions, drug prevention and control, administrative skills of the Church and sharing experiences in Buddhist work.
Venerable Thich Thien Danh - Deputy Secretary cum Chief of Office of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province said that the course has the teaching participation of venerable monks of the Central GHPGVN, leaders of the Provincial Executive Board and speakers from the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Police and University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The training course attracted about 200 trainees who are monks and nuns of the Provincial GHPGVN Executive Board, representatives of Buddhist religions in communes and wards, abbots of pagodas and concentrated religious activity points in the area.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Thien highly appreciated the results of Buddhist activities of GHPGVN Tay Ninh province after the merger, and emphasized that the organization of the training course is to help monks and nuns update new knowledge, improve management skills, apply technology and effectively implement Buddhist activities in the current period.
