Through review by functional agencies, up to this point, the whole province has 50 communes, wards, and special zones proposing to build and repair houses for 155 cases of children of people participating in resistance activities who were infected with chemical toxins; of which, it is necessary to build 83 new houses and repair 72 houses.
Over the past time, the Provincial Military Command has coordinated with departments, branches and localities to implement many tasks to support the program; advising on the establishment of 189 groups with 881 people participating in supporting households to build and repair houses. The Department of Construction has issued typical housing design templates for localities and households to refer to and select suitable to actual conditions.
However, the implementation process still faces some difficulties regarding the origin of construction land. Some households do not have enough funds to match. The province is waiting for support funds from the central government to be allocated to localities.
At the Conference to deploy the plan to implement support for removing temporary and dilapidated houses for children of people who participated in the resistance war and were infected with chemical toxins in the province on the afternoon of May 18, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested departments, branches, and localities to focus on implementing with high determination, synchronization, and unity throughout the province; striving to complete the construction and repair of new houses for beneficiaries before July 20, 2026.
Localities continue to carefully review cases eligible for support; even localities without beneficiaries must have specific reports sent to the Department of Home Affairs. The review and synthesis of the list of beneficiaries must be completed and sent to the province before 3:30 PM on May 19th" - Ms. Y Ngoc emphasized.
