More than 60 delegates in Thanh Nua commune (Dien Bien) were trained in the Law on Network Information Security, improving skills in protecting personal data and identifying violations.

The Center for Legal Consulting for the Poor and Community Development (Vietnam Lawyers Association) has just organized a training conference to raise awareness about the Law on Network Information Security for women, the poor and ethnic minorities in Thanh Nua commune (Dien Bien province).

The activity is part of the project "Strengthening legal aid for the poor and vulnerable", funded by the World Bank from the Japan Social Development Fund for the period 2022-2026, according to VNA.

Speaking at the conference, Center Director Ha Huy Tu emphasized that in the context of cyberspace becoming an essential part of life, equipping legal knowledge is an important "shield" to help vulnerable groups protect themselves. To increase spread, all documents are printed in hard copy and integrated with QR codes, helping participants easily access and use them when connected to the internet.

Participating in the training, more than 60 delegates who are core officials, prestigious people, village elders, village heads and ethnic minorities in Thanh Nua commune were disseminated the basic contents of the 2015 Law on Network Information Security. Experts focused on guiding skills in identifying and handling law violations in the online environment, and analyzed 5 typical cases for discussion and linking with practice.

Mr. Luong Van Phuc, Banh village, Thanh Nua commune said: "After the training session, I understand more about how to protect personal information on phones and social networks. These knowledge are very practical, helping people to be more confident and feel secure in using technology to develop the economy.

Established in 2008, the center for legal advice for the poor and community development has provided free legal advice and propaganda to thousands of vulnerable people. In the period 2008 - 2018, the unit organized 500 conferences and mobile legal advice for about 25,000 people in the northern mountainous provinces.
