On August 31, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra On commune coordinated with Thien Phuoc Pagoda to organize the awarding of scholarships to encourage poor students in difficult circumstances to go to school.
At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 56 scholarships, each worth 1.12 million VND, with a total budget of nearly 63 million VND, to support students in difficult circumstances before the new school year.
The funding is taken from the Binh Minh - Thien Phuoc Scholarship Fund of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, mobilized by Nun Thich Nu Duc Quang, Abbot of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, to encourage Buddhists to contribute.
This is an annual activity maintained for many years, aimed at sharing difficulties, supporting tuition fees and adding motivation for poor students to continue going to school.
Scholarships awarded before the new school year not only contribute to reducing the academic burden, but also are a source of spiritual encouragement, helping students become more confident.
Nun Thich Nu Duc Quang said that the Binh Minh - Thien Phuoc Scholarship Fund is maintained with the desire to accompany poor students and students in difficult circumstances in the area.
Each scholarship is the joint effort of Buddhists, showing affection and care for the younger generation. The nun hopes that the children will be obedient, study well, and know how to love.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of Tra On Commune People's Committee - thanked Nun Thich Nu Duc Quang and Buddhists for many years of accompanying and caring for disadvantaged students.
The locality hopes that students will enter the new school year with a confident spirit, strive to overcome difficulties, achieve good results in studying, and at the same time nurture dreams and have the will to rise up.
The scholarship awarding program continues to spread the spirit of mutual affection, creating more motivation for poor students and disadvantaged students to firmly go to school and look towards the future.
