Recently, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) coordinated with the Executive Board of the GHPGVN of Dien Bien province to implement a series of social security activities in the province.
During the days staying in Dien Bien, more than 4,000 Tet gifts with a total budget of more than 3 billion VND were directly presented by the delegation to poor households, near-poor households and families in particularly difficult circumstances in many communes such as: Na Tau, Muong Ang, Bung Lao, Sinh Phinh, Chieng Sinh...
Specifically, the Central Committee of GHPGVN presented 2,000 gifts (each gift including 1 million VND in cash and necessities). The Executive Board of GHPGVN of Dien Bien province presented more than 2,000 gifts including 500 thousand VND in cash and necessities.
Venerable Thich Duc Thien - Vice Chairman, General Secretary of the Executive Council of GHPGVN said that the series of social security activities to welcome Binh Ngo Spring 2026 is the sentiment and responsibility of monks, nuns, and Buddhists nationwide towards the heroic land of Dien Bien.
He also expressed his wish that local authorities continue to create conditions for the Church to promote its role of "accompanying the nation", contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc, so that every spring comes, the spirit of compassion is spread again.
