On August 31, the Party Committee, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Tra On commune coordinated with Nhi My Pagoda to organize a program to give gifts to poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the area.
At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 400 gifts to poor households and households in difficult circumstances. Each gift is worth 500,000 VND, including 300,000 VND in cash, 5kg of rice and 5kg of nui. The total budget of 200 million VND is sponsored by the Tu Van Monastery Charity Fund, Ho Chi Minh City.
On this occasion, the program presented 3 wheelchairs to people with disabilities, each worth 1.3 million VND; and presented 3 bicycles to support students going to school to students in difficult circumstances, each worth 1.9 million VND.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of Tra On Commune People's Committee - thanked Nhi My Pagoda, Tu Van Monastery Charity Fund and philanthropists for their concern and support of practical gifts for poor households and people in difficult circumstances in the area.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy hopes that in the coming time, the locality will continue to receive the companionship and sharing of organizations, individuals and philanthropists, contributing to better care for vulnerable groups and effectively implementing social security work.
In addition to the 400 gifts presented at Nhi My Pagoda, the pagoda also connected with organizations, individuals and philanthropists to present 300 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to people in difficult circumstances in old Tich Thien commune, Ngai Tu commune and Dak Lak province.
The pagoda also supported the construction of 3 houses of gratitude for households in difficult circumstances in Tra On commune, each worth 60 million VND; donated 3,000 notebooks to poor and studious students in the area.
The activity contributes to spreading the spirit of love, sharing and the tradition of mutual affection, joining hands to care for vulnerable people, thereby contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the locality.
