On December 19, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province - led a delegation to visit the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery. This is a gratitude activity demonstrating the spirit of "remembering the source of water when drinking" on the occasion of important events of the country: the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Joining the delegation were leaders, former leaders of the province, representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces.
In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates respectfully laid wreaths and burned incense at the Monument of the Fatherland.
After that, a minute of silence was held to commemorate the heroic martyrs in Dong Thap and all over the country who fought bravely and sacrificed themselves for national independence and the happiness of the people. After the ceremony, the delegates lit incense on each martyr's grave.
