On the afternoon of April 22, the press conference of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival took place at the Hall of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy.
The 20th UN Vesak Ceremony this year with delegations from 80 countries and 5 territories attended, hosted by the Buddhist Church of Vietnam held in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Speaking at the press conference, Venerable Thich Gia Quang, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Information and Communications Department of the 2025 United Nations General Strike said:
"The 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival is also an opportunity for international friends to visit Ho Chi Minh City. This is also an opportunity to introduce the image of the country and people of Vietnam who love peace, friendship, solidarity and harmony, witnessing a dynamic, creative, prosperous and prosperous Ho Chi Minh City after 50 years of national reunification".

The United Nations Vesak Ceremony is the Cultural Activities of the United Nations. The United Nations General Assembly, course 54, 1999, decided to Vesak or the Three Ceremony to celebrate the birth of the birth, enlightenment and nirvana of the Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha as a religious cultural festival for peace. From 2000 to the present, the UN Vesak Ceremony has been held 19 terms at the United Nations headquarters and other countries in the world.
Vietnam has successfully hosted and organized three United Nations Vesak Festivals in 2008 with 87 countries attending the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi; in 2014 with 95 countries attending the Bai Dinh Pagoda, Ninh Binh province; and in 2019 with 112 countries attending the Tam Chuc Pagoda, Ha Nam province.
This will be an extremely meaningful international cultural affairs event of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in 2025.

The 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival will take place from May 6 to 8, with the highlight being the spiritual and cultural events taking place at the campus of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Le Minh Xuan Facility, Binh Chanh district and Lang Le Park.
Through the content of the program, scientific seminars in English and Vietnamese, cultural and social activities of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, international friends have a deeper understanding of the historical tradition and culture of Vietnamese Buddhism in more than 2,000 years of accompanying the nation.
The spirit of entering the unique position of Vietnamese Buddhism, the great contributions of Buddhism in the construction of the country and defending the country, in the unification of the country through the image of the immortal heart of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc will be worshiped at this year's Vesak ceremony.
The UN 2025 Vesak Ceremony is also an opportunity to affirm to the international community about consistent policies to respect and ensure the freedom of belief and religion of the Party and the State of Vietnam; About the reality of religious life in Vietnam; About the achievements that the community of religions in Vietnam achieved after 50 years of reunion.
The 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival is expected to contribute to promoting tourism development and economic investment in Vietnam. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to become a destination for international tourists from the beautiful image that Vietnam has created through the United Nations international cultural event.
