The ceremony was organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Trieu city.
The ceremony began with an incense offering ceremony, followed by delegates, monks, Buddhists, and visitors listening to the biography and memorial service of Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong.
Emperor Tran Nhan Tong was a king who renounced the throne, became a monk, and founded the Truc Lam Zen sect with a strong Vietnamese identity. He passed away on November 1, Mau Than year (1308) at Ngoa Van peak, at the age of 51.
Venerable Thich Dao Hien, Deputy Head and Chief Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province, emphasized: "This year's memorial ceremony has special significance, as Dong Trieu has just become a city, and is an opportunity to report to the Buddha Emperor about the outstanding development achievements of the Tran Dynasty homeland."
The festival not only honors the spiritual cultural heritage of the Truc Lam Zen sect but also contributes to promoting and raising awareness of the value of the Tran Dynasty National Special Relic Site.
Within the framework of the program, visitors can admire 150 artistic photos from the "Buddhism in Life" contest and receive free cable car tickets on November 30 and December 1.
The ceremony ended in a solemn atmosphere, spreading the historical, cultural and spiritual values of Vietnamese Buddhism.
