On October 20, the Tang Ni and Buddhist delegation of Vinh Long province led by Venerable Thich Thien Tam - Abbot of Long Thanh Pagoda (Thanh Duc Ward) visited, encouraged and presented gifts to people severely affected by storms No. 10, 11 and floods.
At Tan Long Primary School (Quang Trieu Ward), the delegation presented fresh milk to 488 students and 250 scholarships including milk and 700,000 VND in cash each, helping students in difficult circumstances to stabilize their studies after natural disasters.
In Na Ri commune, the delegation presented 200 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to poor households and those in especially difficult circumstances; 10 households were visited and given gifts directly at home.
The delegation supported the construction of 3 charity houses, each worth 60 million VND for households with completely damaged houses. Also here, the group has created more than 500 gifts of milk and gifts to support households on the list, with a total value of more than 300 million VND.
Venerable Thich Thien Tam said that the activity demonstrated the spirit of compassion and mutual love of Tang Ni, a Buddhist in Vinh Long province, contributing to helping people in flood-affected areas to soon stabilize their lives.
Ms. Bui Thi Thu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Na Ri Commune, Thai Nguyen Province expressed her gratitude for the gesture of Tang Ni, a Buddhist from Vinh Long Province, who brought more than 1 billion VND and hundreds of gifts to support the people.
She believes that this is a great and timely help, contributing to helping people and students in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
