On May 7, VNPT and Viettel units coordinated to implement a program to support people in Ban Xeo commune, Lao Cai province to register and update official SIM phone information according to regulations.

In many villages in the commune, technical staff of the two network operators directly guided people to check the subscriber information they are using, update chip-based citizen ID cards, verify faces and supplement missing information to ensure accurate and complete subscribers.
In addition, people are also supported to install subscriber management applications on smartphones, and at the same time are propagated about how to use phones safely, identify and prevent forms of fraud in cyberspace.

The activity attracted a large number of people to participate, especially the elderly, ethnic minorities and households far from the commune center.
Many people are guided to operate directly on smartphones for the first time, creating convenience in accessing digital services serving daily life.

Supporting genuine SIM registration not only helps people ensure their rights when using telecommunications services but also limits junk SIMs, avoiding the risk of subscriber locking due to inaccurate or incomplete information.
Through the program, VNPT and Viettel continue to accompany localities in digital transformation in mountainous areas, contributing to improving the quality of service to people and promoting the application of information technology in the community.
