Specifically, in the early morning of March 13, while performing the IUU fishing prevention mission in the sea area bordering Vietnam - Malaysia, Coast Guard ship 4040 received information from Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Captain of fishing vessel TV 95959 TS requesting urgent rescue of fishing vessel KG 94220 TS that was burning in the engine room, the fire is spreading more and more.
Under the urgent direction of Coast Guard Region 4 Command, Coast Guard ship CSB 4040 quickly maneuvered to approach the scene, making efforts to deploy fire fighting and rescue plans.
Officers and soldiers of Coast Guard ship 4040 coordinated with fishermen's fishing boats on the ground to successfully rescue all 4 crew members on ship KG 94220 TS (captained by Mr. Le Quoc Tuan, born in 1981, with address in Rach Gia ward, An Giang).
Coast Guard ship 4040 organized medical examinations, care, encouragement, and food and food support for fishermen in distress.
Currently, the health and spirit of all 4 crew members are stable. Functional forces of Coast Guard Region 4 Command are continuing to verify the incident and ensure safety for fishermen after the ship encountered an accident.
