On March 2nd, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, Coast Guard Region 4 Command solemnly organized the 2026 training launching ceremony and launched the emulation movement "Good training, strict discipline, innovation".
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Command of Coast Guard Region 4, Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Region Command, thoroughly grasped the training tasks for 2026.
In 2025, in conditions that are still difficult, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 has been united, proactive, creative, and successfully and excellently completed many assigned tasks. Completed 100% of the content, training time, and personnel reached over 98.93%.
The unit has organized the monitoring and direction of 256 turns of ships and boats performing tasks at sea, traveling over 71,000 nautical miles in absolute safety; mobilized 13 turns of vehicles to participate in medical support, timely rescue of 12 fishermen, and supported the repair of 2 fishing boats.
On the front of fighting against crime and law violations, the unit has inspected, arrested, received, and handled more than 400 cases; confiscated more than 2 million liters of DO oil, 230 tons of urea fertilizer, 30 tons of granulated sugar, more than 08 tons of seafood of all kinds; administratively fined and sold confiscated assets to pay to the State budget more than 37.5 billion VND. At the same time, chaired and coordinated the fight to arrest 9 cases/9 subjects for acts of illegally storing, trading, and transporting drugs. Thereby, contributing to maintaining security, order, and safety in the sea area assigned to management.
Along with that, logistics, technical, and financial work are fully and promptly ensured for regular and unexpected tasks; the material and spiritual life of soldiers is constantly improved.
With the achievements, in 2025, the Regional Command was honored to be awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense; the title of Comprehensively Strong Unit "Exemplary and Typical"; many units were awarded the title "Excellent Training Unit" by higher levels; many collectives and individuals were commended by the Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam Coast Guard and localities. This is an honor and pride, and also a great motivation for officers and soldiers throughout the Regional Command to continue to promote tradition, bravery, responsibility, and determination to excellently complete the tasks of 2026.
Regarding the direction of training work in 2026, Coast Guard Region 4 Command determined to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the motto "Basic, practical, solid"; training closely to tasks, subjects, plans, and actual areas; taking the task of law enforcement at sea as the center. Promoting innovation in training content, forms, and methods; strengthening night training, training in complex weather conditions; improving coordination and handling of complex situations at sea; closely combining military training with political education, discipline management, building regularity, and ensuring absolute safety.
At the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Dung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar, Chairman of the Emulation and Commendation Council of the Regional Command launched the Emulation Movement in combat training in 2026, creating a vibrant and widespread emulation atmosphere throughout the unit from the first days and first weeks of training.
