On March 9, during the implementation of patrol and control tasks against IUU fishing in the Southwest sea area, Coast Guard ship 8005 (under Naval Flotilla 42 - Coast Guard Region 4 Command) promptly provided medical support to a fisherman who suffered a labor accident at sea.
The fisherman in distress is Mr. V.V.T, born in 1993, from Nghe An province, crew member of fishing vessel KG 941xx TS (captained by Mr. Dang Thanh Tuan, 43 years old, residing in An Giang province). During fishing, Mr. T had an accident that completely severed the third knuckle of the middle finger and severely injured the soft tissue of the ring finger of his left hand.
Immediately after receiving information requesting medical support from fishing vessel KG 941xx TS and under the urgent direction of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, Coast Guard vessel 8005 quickly maneuvered to approach, assigned doctors and military medical staff to perform first aid, treat injuries, stop bleeding and stitch wounds for the injured fishermen. At the same time, encouraged, reassured, cared for fishermen with food and provided antibiotics and pain relievers.
After being supported, Mr. T's health and spirit were basically stable. Officers and soldiers of Coast Guard ship 8005 handed over the distressed fisherman to fishing vessel KG 941xx TS and requested the captain of the fishing vessel to take Mr. T ashore for further treatment.
The urgent and timely action of Coast Guard ship 8005 demonstrates the spirit and high responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard force before the People, helping the injured fishermen recover their health soon, creating trust and a solid support for fishermen to feel secure in going out to sea and sticking to the sea.
