Deeply grasping the combat training order of the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, the Party Committee and the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 have proactively developed a strict and scientific training plan; organized training and fostering of cadres at all levels; unified the content and methods of training according to the motto "basic, practical, solid", taking the task of "Protecting sovereignty, enforcing the law and building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam Coast Guard" as a training goal for the district.
The highlight in this year's preparation is the organization of training for forces performing tasks at sea. The training content focuses on updating new legal regulations, inspection, control, and handling of administrative violations; professional operations of propaganda; professional operations of exploiting recording and filming equipment; skills to identify and combat smuggling, trade fraud, illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) seafood exploitation; search and rescue at sea; proficient use of technical equipment and specialized vehicles. The simulated situations are built close to the reality of the Southwest sea area, requiring officers and soldiers to flexibly apply legal knowledge, maintain bravery, handle appropriate countermeasures, within authority, and ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles.
Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 4 Command emphasized: Training must be substantive, going straight to the issues raised from practice at sea, taking the results of task completion as the highest measure. Officers and soldiers directly implementing the law must firmly grasp and properly perform their responsibilities, powers, and working procedures; handle situations resolutely, wisely, and in accordance with the law; proactively control the situation, absolutely not to be passive or surprised in any circumstances.
On ships, naval fleets and agencies and units, the preparation of models of teaching aids, lesson plans, training grounds, and wharves is deployed synchronously. The system of books, documents, plans, and schedules are built in accordance with regulations; weapons and technical equipment are inspected and carefully maintained, ensuring good technical coefficients, ready to maneuver to perform tasks when situations arise. In parallel, agencies and units organize team discipline training, team review, physical exercises, and aerial martial arts according to regulations, ensuring unified, correct, beautiful, strong, and decisive movements. The blocks participating in the training ceremony are trained elaborately and closely, clearly showing regularity, unity, and collective strength. Through training, it not only contributes to improving physical strength, training bravery, and military style, but also creates a lively and high-determined emulation atmosphere right from the early days of entering the new training season. The emulation movement in preparing for the new training season is spreading widely, creating strong motivation throughout the unit.
Closely following the characteristics of the large managed area, activities at sea contain many complex factors, the training content for 2026 of the Regional Command focuses on improving the organizational command capacity, coordination capacity between forces; physical training, endurance, long-term mobile skills at sea; improving foreign language proficiency, communication skills, propaganda, and mobilization of fishermen to comply with the law. Patrol and control plans and plans are practiced proficiently, ensuring effective handling of arising situations.
