On April 16, the M'Drak Health Center said that the unit had a quick report on supporting the Ea Rieng Commune Health Station to handle the chickenpox outbreak in hamlet 20.
Accordingly, at 6:30 am on April 14, the M'Drak Health Center received information from the Ea Rieng Commune Health Station about the appearance of some suspected cases of chickenpox at many schools.
The commune health force has conducted surveillance and investigations at schools and in the community, recording 11 suspected cases of illness at Le Van Tam Primary School and Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten. By April 15, 3 more suspected cases of illness in the community were recorded.
All suspected infected people are ethnic minorities residing in the area.
Immediately after detecting the cases, the M'Drak Health Center supported the Ea Rieng Commune Health Station to implement measures to monitor, investigate, zone off and handle the outbreak according to regulations. At the same time, coordinate to verify cases of disease at two school sites and in the community.
In addition, the health sector promotes communication and guidance for teachers and students of Le Van Tam Primary School, Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten and people in the area about chickenpox, prevention and control measures; implement isolation, maintain personal hygiene, take care of patients and monitor health. The commune health station is also guided to complete dossiers, procedures, and report on outbreaks according to regulations.
From the beginning of 2026 to now, Ea Rieng commune has recorded 40 cases of chickenpox and 2 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease. Currently, outbreaks have been handled and controlled by grassroots health forces, preventing widespread spread.
