On the afternoon of July 21, Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee organized a Conference to provide information on activities to celebrate the 300th birthday of Cultural Figure Le Quy Don (1726-2026); launching the Le Quy Don Award in the field of science and technology in 2026; Planning the preservation, repair, and restoration of the National Special Relic Area of Tombs and Temples of Tran Dynasty Kings.
At the conference, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the anniversary ceremony will be held with many key activities, taking place from the end of July to the end of 2026. The highlight is the incense and flower offering ceremony to commemorate Cultural Figure Le Quy Don at the Memorial Area and the ancestral temple of the Le Quy family on July 31.
Within the framework of the program, UNESCO's Resolution, the special art program "Radiant Vietnamese Culture" and a low-altitude fireworks display will be presented.
In addition, the province will coordinate to organize a national-level scientific conference with the theme "Scientist, cultural figure Le Quy Don: Spiritual heritage and value of the era" on the morning of July 30; launch a contest to learn about Le Quy Don's life and career; organize exhibitions, reading week, extracurricular activities in schools, produce documentaries, publish books, perform Cheo play "Le Quy Don Longan", issue a special postage stamp set and inaugurate the road connecting the mausoleum area, temples of the Tran Dynasty kings with the Le Quy Don Cultural Figure Memorial Area.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee said that the 300th Anniversary of the Birth of Cultural Figure Le Quy Don is expected to welcome about 6,000 delegates, guests and people to attend.
The province is focusing on completing conditions on facilities, security, order and organization to ensure that activities take place solemnly and safely.
Also at the conference, Ms. Thai Thi Thu Huong - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hung Yen province launched the Le Quy Don Award in the field of science and technology in 2026 to honor valuable scientific and technological works and solutions, contributing to promoting innovation and socio-economic development of the province.
Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also informed about Decision No. 478/QD-TTg dated March 26, 2026 of the Prime Minister approving the Planning for preservation, repair, and restoration of the Special National Relic Area of the Tomb and Temple of the Tran Dynasty Kings, Hung Yen province.
The implementation of the planning is expected to contribute to preserving the historical and cultural values of the relic, while promoting the effectiveness of serving research, traditional education and cultural tourism development of the locality.
