The situation of elephant-people conflict before 2009 in the province was very serious when both human and elephant damage was recorded. Since 2013, Dong Nai province has been implementing a series of solutions to preserve and develop wild elephant complexes such as: investigating and assessing the number of individuals and elephant complexes; identifying habitats, distribution areas, and food sources of elephants; building about 72 km of electric fence system, 3 monitoring cages, 6 water tanks...
Elephant conservation work in the province has achieved positive results, has proposed feasible and appropriate conservation solutions in Dong Nai province, has established model bodies, and identified 27 wild elephant complexes.
