On May 26, information from the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the Traditional Arts Center organized the opening ceremony of a training class on Thai folk songs, folk music, and folk dances in Tien Phong commune.
The program was attended by Ms. Quach Thi Cuong - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of leaders of the Department of Culture and Family Management; representatives of leaders of Tien Phong commune, Department of Culture - Society; Board of Directors and professional departments of the Center for Traditional Arts.
Speaking at the opening of the training class, Mr. Tran Quoc Chung - Director of the Center for Traditional Arts affirmed that folk songs, folk music, and folk dances of the Thai ethnic group are unique traditional art forms, preserving the soul of culture, customs, habits and spiritual life of the people.
The organization of training classes aims to contribute to preserving and transmitting valuable cultural values to the younger generation; creating conditions for grassroots cultural and artistic core to improve practical skills. Thereby, continuing to spread and promote national cultural identity in community life.
Speaking to direct the program, Ms. Quach Thi Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of coordination between Tien Phong commune and the Center for Traditional Arts in organizing the training class.
The Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the work of preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage, especially folk songs, folk music, and folk dances of ethnic minorities, needs to be carried out regularly, systematically and associated with the practical life of the people.
Ms. Quach Thi Cuong requested the trainees to promote the spirit of responsibility, actively study, and exchange experiences. At the same time, she wished that the people's arts and culture team in the area would continue to be the core force in preserving, teaching and promoting the good traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic group to the community.
