According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a low pressure is strengthening near the East Sea.
As of 8:00 PM on August 29 (local time), the center of the low pressure was located at about 20.3 degrees North latitude - 134.5 degrees East longitude, about 1,305 km east of the northernmost point of Luzon Island.
The strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reached 30 km/h. The low pressure is forecast to have a high probability of strengthening into a tropical depression or storm in the next 24 hours.
Because it is still quite far from the mainland, the low pressure has not caused much impact on the adjacent mainland areas.
In the East Sea, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on August 30, the area north of the Gulf of Tonkin and the South of the Gulf of Tonkin will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, West to Southwest winds of level 4-5, in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of level 7-8; waves are 1.0-2.0 m and 1.5-2.5 m high respectively.
The sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has showers and thunderstorms in some places, Southwest wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-3.0 m high. The area from Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa has showers and thunderstorms in some places, Southwest wind level 5, especially the South level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-4.0 m high.
The sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau has scattered showers and thunderstorms, Southwest wind level 5, especially the North level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-4.0 m high, in thunderstorms it may be over 4.0 m high.
