According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 AM on July 23, the center of the tropical depression was at about 15.3 degrees North latitude, 129.5 degrees East longitude, over the sea east of the Philippines. The strongest wind near the center reached level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8 and is moving in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.
It is forecasted that by 7:00 AM on July 24, the tropical depression will continue to move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 25-30 km/h and is likely to strengthen to level 7, gusting to level 9 when it is still about 220 km east of Luzon Island (Philippines).
By 7:00 AM on July 25, this phenomenon is likely to strengthen into a storm when entering the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea, with winds of level 8, gusts of level 10. The affected area is warned of disaster risk level 3.
From the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm is forecast to continue moving mainly in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h and is likely to strengthen further.
Notes for tourists when participating in sea tourism
For tourism activities, from the night of July 24, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea will gradually have winds increasing to level 6-7, the area near the storm center will be strong at level 8, gusting at level 10. Sea waves are 2-4 m high, strong sea waves.
Tourists planning to visit and relax at sea and island tourist destinations in the North East Sea area or participate in cruises and yachts need to regularly follow weather forecasts and comply with the instructions of functional agencies.
