The strongest wind near the center of the storm reached 95 km/h, becoming a severe tropical storm. The storm is moving westward under the influence of the subtropical high pressure edge in the South.
Over the next 36 hours, Grant is expected to continue to strengthen with maximum sustained wind speeds of 100 km/h, then gradually weaken. After 5 days, the storm will continue to strengthen with the maximum storm intensity expected to reach 140 km/h.
