Typhoon Podul (Philippine name: Gorio, Japan calls it Typhoon No. 11) has been moving west-northwest at a speed of 37 km/h for the past 6 hours.
According to the final warning from the JTWC Joint Typhoon Warning Center, the storm weakened into a low pressure area after making landfall near Zhuang City, Fujian Province, China on April 13.
However, the system is still being monitored to promptly detect the possibility of re-formation.
The wind circulation of Typhoon Podul is affecting the weather in many areas of Vietnam.

Mekong Delta, Southeast and Central Highlands: The circulation brought moisture from the West Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, causing heavy rain in the afternoon of August 14. During rain, it is necessary to be on guard against thunderstorms and local strong tornadoes. The rain could last until August 16.
The northern mountainous region has local thunderstorms in the afternoons. These rains make the land more susceptible to the risk of landslides when there is widespread heavy rain from August 15.
Northern and Central Plains: Temperature tends to decrease slightly from now until August 14, but during the day it is still 33-35°C, feeling 39-40°C. The evening is calmer thanks to scattered showers.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of August 14 to August 16, the weather in many areas across the country will have notable developments.
In the North and Thanh Hoa, on the night of August 14 and August 15, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain; in the mountainous areas of the Northeast, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places having very heavy rain, concentrated in the afternoon and night. On the night of August 15 and August 16, this area will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms.
The area from Nghe An to Da Nang and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, during the night of August 14 and August 15, in the evening and at night, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; during the day, there will only be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. On the night of August 15 and August 16, this area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, concentrated in the afternoon and night.
Other areas will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, with some places having heavy rain. In particular, from the afternoon of August 15, the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms.
