According to Philippine media, at least 2 people were killed and 1 injured after a landslide occurred at a restaurant in La Trinidad town, Benguet province, northern Philippines on August 6.
Local police said the two victims, 31 years old and 55 years old, were both chefs working at the restaurant. Another chef, 66 years old, was rescued by rescue forces and taken to the hospital for treatment.
In the city of Vigan, strong winds caused by storm Maymay (storm No. 3 in the East Sea) knocked down many green trees, causing traffic obstruction. Police and rescue forces have deployed to clear the scene to restore traffic.
The Philippine Civil Aviation Authority said that about 1,660 passengers were affected after nearly 10 domestic flights were canceled or delayed due to Typhoon Maymay combined with the Southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, the China National Meteorological Center continues to maintain a blue-level storm warning for Typhoon Dolphin as the storm moves over the northwest Pacific and towards the east coast of the country.
According to the meteorological agency, on the morning of August 6, the storm center was about 1,360 km east of Wenzhou city, with the strongest sustained wind reaching 42 m/s. The storm is forecast to enter the East China Sea on August 7 before approaching the east coast of China.
Chinese officials warned that strong winds could affect the East China Sea, the Yellow Sea, the sea east of Taiwan (China) and part of the South China Sea, and advised coastal localities to proactively implement response measures.
The Taiwan (China) Meteorological Administration also said that Typhoon Dolphin may cause sea warnings to be issued earliest on August 7. Forecast from August 8-10, when the typhoon gets closest to this area, many places in northern and central Taiwan may experience heavy rain, strong winds and high waves.
