At 7:00 AM on August 5th, the storm's center was located at about 17.0 degrees North latitude - 118.9 degrees East longitude, over the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm's center was strong at level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting at level 10.
On the night of August 4, the storm moved in a westerly direction at a speed of about 15km/h. However, in the past 3 hours, the storm has moved almost little, then suddenly changed direction to the East at a speed of 3-5 km/h.
It is forecasted that by 7:00 AM on August 6th, the storm will move in the East-Northeast direction at a speed of 5-10km/h, reaching the Northwest of Luzon Island (Philippines) and gradually weakening into a tropical depression. The center of the tropical depression is at about 17.1 degrees North latitude - 120.7 degrees East longitude, intensity level 6-7, gusts level 9.
By 7:00 AM on August 7, the tropical depression will continue to move in the East-Northeast direction at a speed of 5-10km/h, reaching the sea area northeast of Luzon Island and weakening into a low pressure area. The center of the low pressure area is at about 17.2 degrees North latitude - 122.2 degrees East longitude, intensity below level 6.
Due to the impact of the storm, the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea area has storms, strong winds at level 6-7, gusts at level 9, the area near the storm center passing through strong at level 8, gusts at level 10; waves 2.0-4.0m high, strong sea waves.
Typhoon No. 3 is forecast not to affect the coastal and mainland areas of Vietnam.
However, on August 5th day and night, the area south of the Gulf of Tonkin, from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, the southwest of the Northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa special zone), the west of the Southern East Sea area (including the western Truong Sa special zone) will have strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8.
