According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of August 1st, super typhoon DOLPHIN - storm No. 4 operating in the Northwest Pacific region in 2026 - continued to maintain very strong intensity even though it has weakened slightly compared to before.
At 7:00 AM on August 1st, the super typhoon's center was located at about 20.2 degrees North latitude; 158.4 degrees East longitude, more than 3,800km east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the typhoon's center reached level 16 (184-201km/h), gusting above level 17.
In the next 24 hours, super typhoon DOLPHIN is forecast to move mainly in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 20-25km/h, with little change in intensity.
By around August 3, the storm will continue to maintain this direction of movement at an average speed of about 25km/h, while gradually weakening to level 13-14, gusting to level 16-17, heading towards the Fujian - Zhejiang area (China).
According to meteorologists, from around August 5th, when the super typhoon approaches the northern area of Taiwan Island (China), the typhoon's circulation will cause southwest winds in the southern sea area of the East Sea to strengthen.
Forecast for two days, July 6-7, Southwest winds over most of the Northern East Sea area, between the East Sea and Southern East Sea, including the waters of the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes, are likely to strengthen to level 6-7, waves 2-4m high, strong rough seas.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said it is continuing to closely monitor the diễn biến of super typhoon DOLPHIN to promptly update forecast and warning bulletins to serve disaster prevention and control work.
