According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, July 5, the tropical depression continues to affect the East Sea.
By 7:00 a.m. on July 5, the tropical depression will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 10-15km/h and is likely to strengthen. The center of the tropical depression is located at about 21.2 degrees North latitude - 117.1 degrees East longitude, about 780km northeast of Hoang Sa Special Zone.
It is forecasted that by 7:00 p.m. the same day, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest, slow down to 5-10km/h and is likely to strengthen into storm No. 2 in the East Sea. The tropical depression will affect the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea.
According to the Taiwan Meteorological Station (China), storm No. 2 has the international name DANAS.
The storm is expected to change direction late on July 5, move north or northeast and approach Taiwan (China) from Sunday, July 6 to Monday morning, July 7. The storm is likely to cross the Taiwan Strait.
