The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (July 5) in regions across the country.

The storm's center is located at about 20.9 degrees North latitude; 107.9 degrees East longitude, about 70 km south of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The storm has maximum wind force of level 9 (75-88 km/h), gusts of level 11. In the next 3 hours, the storm will move in the North-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

The Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai special zones and Hon Dau island) has strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusts of level 11. Very strong sea waves, waves commonly from 2-3.5 m high, especially in the area near the storm center from 3-4.5 m. By July 5, the wind tends to gradually decrease.

In the area from southern Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the Northwest and Central East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone), southwest to south winds are strong at level 6, gusts at level 7-8. Sea is rough, waves are 2-4 m high. From July 5, winds will also gradually decrease.

In addition, on the night of July 4 and July 5, the Gulf of Tonkin will have rain and storms at night, showers and thunderstorms during the day. The southwest area of the East Sea (including the western Truong Sa special zone), the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.

In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 7-8, sea waves over 2 m high, causing danger to ships operating at sea.

In the Northern Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai special zones and Hon Dau island), southwest to south winds will maintain at level 6, gusts at level 7-8; sea waves are 2-3 m high, the sea continues to be rough.

Meanwhile, the northwest of the East Sea (including the Hoang Sa special zone) has southwest to south wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8; sea waves are 2-3 m high, rough seas. By July 6, the wind in this area will gradually decrease.

Cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain, locally very heavy rain; especially the Northeast region has heavy to very heavy rain. Southern wind level 3; especially the coastal area from Quang Ninh to Hung Yen wind gradually strengthens to level 6-7, the area near the storm center level 8, gusts level 10-11. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Thanh Hoa to Hue

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees C.
